How do i split a single 12v source to power two items in a car? ?

Hope this makes sense. For example i have a boot light, i could connect a new strip light but i want to connect two, how do i split that one source to power two lights, hope this makes sense and you can help. please provide links for items i could use. many thanks How do i split a single 12v source to power two items in a car? ?
are you trying to illuminate your boot ???? using existing light supply might blow the fuse depending on what amperage it is and depending on the striplights thats going to run it. Being as it is 12 volt theres only a posative supply and negative supply, if the strips lights are 12v the lights should come with wiring diagram ,if not the red cables pos and black is neg... the boot light will have 2 wires going to it , one will be live one earth ,find the live and connect accordingly , if your only opening it for a short time they should be ok but if your going to shows to show off your boot, i'd suggest a new supply off the battery an inline fuse and switch or put a boot contact switch in..... difficult to answer really as not sure why u want so much light in the boot? How do i split a single 12v source to power two items in a car? ?
Firstly you need to find a good source of power ; Does it need to work when the ignition is on or does it need to work on a constant live ? Either way tap into either source with a wire with a on line fuse on it, to protect the car and the light' then tap into that wire for the second feed. Note most cigarette lighters in the rear are normally a constant source. Or e-mail me with your vehicle marque and I will try and tell you where to get the power source.
Go to Wal-Mart or Radio Shack and you can get a power cord that plugs into your power source and has two power receptacles coming out of it.
it depends if you are confident to do the work yourself, you can take a live feed from exsisting power to your addition BUT make sure the EARTH is good, you could make three earth points two from the screws and your third comes from a earth lead.otherwise get an auto electrician would'nt think it will be that expensive.
