By the sounds of it youve pulled a muscle. You should of warmed down after doing such exercise's.! I'd suggest putting something like deep heat on it, and having a soak in the bath, as these sort of injuries are normally painful for a couple of days.So today in Jazz dance class, we were doing some sort of exercise that involves doing the splits?
I have experienced this before when I was teaching Modern Jazz and HipHop Dance classes. It sounds like you may have over-exerted (strained) your muscles in your leg, or used some muscles that you don't usually use a whole lot. The tightness is possibly the muscles all tensed up now that you have caused it to wake up. Some students may experience this sort of thing if they don't warm up the muscles or stretch before doing strenuous exercise or activities, such as dancing. Have a doctor look at it if the pain gets really bad. You may just need a good leg massage or soak for it.
I wouldnt worry about it. You may have pulled a muscle or just be sore. Your dance teacher knows what shes doing so if you just did the exercise today for the first time than your probably just sore.
you probably just strained it or are sore. but don't worry, it's a good place to get sore. as long as you haven't pulled it it should be fine
You pulled a muscle, just try and rest it tills it's better.
I did the same to my back in hip hop dance class earlier this week.
