Which area do you need flexiblity in to do the splits?

Is it hamstrings and quads? or....? is it also pelvic area?? I'm not too sure... anyone know?Which area do you need flexiblity in to do the splits?
you need flexibility in your hamstrings and you hip flexers and i feel it in my rotators too.

I would say it's a little bit of all of them, I can do the splits on my left and right leg and I can feel it mainly in my hanstrings and a little in my quads
To do the splits, you need flexibility in the hips as well as your hamstrings. Doing deep plies will help you get your hips warmed up and make it easier to get into the splits. Make sure you do some stretches before trying to go down.
