How to split a DSL connection?

I hav one modem thats connected to the telephone jack;this has just one jack. I hav other modem that has 4 jacks + main connection jack.i tried the second modem but it doesn't seem to work.what could be the problem? How to split a DSL connection?
';It doesn't seem to work'; isn't much of a clue as to the problem.

Try it with phones, plug one in...does it work? If so, then plug a second one and try it...does it work?

Now try with both...do they both dial out now?

Odds are up to four phones/modems can share one out-going line, but not at the same time.

You'll need to provide more information, but hopefully this helps a little. How to split a DSL connection?
You can only run one DSL modem on a line.

Your modem with the four jacks is actually a router. You can use ethernet cables to connect up to four devices (pcs, printers etc.) to the internet and to each other.
