Why does light split when you sqint your eyes and look at it?

u'll get a glare when u sqint due to the tissue and the fluid of the eye compress . you will feel the same effect even when ur eyes are watery (or) when u use eye drops.





It is just like what u see behind a plain glass and a prisim. The plain glass allows the light through it, The prism on the other hand splits it into spectrum. But the same effect may be obtained if the plain glass contains water droplets, same as when u sqint ur eye.





Another reason being even the dilation of the pupil.Why does light split when you sqint your eyes and look at it?
